FAQ

What services do you offer, and where?

1

I offer 60 minute individual therapy sessions to adults (18+), via Telehealth. I do not offer in-person sessions at this time. I am licensed to treat clients located in the states of Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Vermont.

What do sessions cost? Can I use my insurance?

2

My private pay session fee is $200/60 minute session. For insurance, I am contracted with Blue Cross Blue Shield; clients with BCBS insurance will typically just pay a co-pay or co-insurance at the time of each session. If you do not have BCBS insurance, but have out-of-network benefits on your insurance plan, I am happy to provide a superbill (invoice) to you that you can submit for insurance reimbursement. Superbill clients pay the standard session fee of $200 up front at the time of each session, and take full responsibility for managing reimbursement from their insurance plan. I recommend contacting your insurance directly to inquire about reimbursement and whether there is a separate out-of-network deductible on your plan. Clients who wish to not use insurance at all, or who do not have out-of-network benefits on their plan, will pay the session fee of $200 at the time of each session. Session fees, co-pays, and co-insurance are all collected via credit card on file (all major credit cards, HSA & FSA cards), using Ivy Pay, a HIPAA-secure app for therapists.

What is your cancellation policy?

3

I ask for 24 hours’ notice to cancel a session without being charged a fee. I offer a 48 hour reminder message to help you be able to cancel or reschedule in time. For cancellations occurring in less than 24 hours prior to session time, including “no call no show”, I reserve the right to charge my full fee. That said: I always try to reschedule with you, as I’d prefer for you to be able to keep your therapy session!

How frequently do I attend therapy?

4

Most clients attend therapy weekly or every other week (biweekly.) For clients interested in biweekly sessions, we will meet weekly for the first month to expedite establishing the therapeutic relationship. Also - consistency is key! I prefer to offer my clients a consistent day and time for our sessions, reducing the need for frequent cancellations or rescheduled sessions.

Do you work with couples/families? How about kids?

5

I’m looking for a therapist for my friend/partner/family member. How can I help them get set up with you?

6

In what states are you licensed? Can I still have therapy when I’m on vacation?

7

How long do clients typically attend therapy?

8

I am only able to provide individual counseling at this time, working with adults ages 18+.

Please feel free to send them my information! All therapy inquiries must come directly from the person interested in the treatment.

I am licensed to practice in Massachusetts (#10789), Rhode Island (#MHC01147), Connecticut (#5544), and Vermont (#068.0136973TELE.) All clients must be physically located in one of these four states at the time of each session. (This does mean that we are unable to meet if you are on vacation in any other state, or out of the country.) I ask all clients to secure a consistent, private space to have their therapy sessions week to week, ideally at home.

It depends! Some folks attend therapy for a few months, others attend for several years. It really comes down to your therapeutic goals aligning with what I offer, our availability lining up, and the fit feeling right to both of us. If ever needed, I am happy to offer referrals to other specialists.
